Located 100 km from Lyon, Grenoble is the capital of the Alps in France. The UGA (Université Grenoble Alpes) gathers around 60,000 students with 10,000 international students. The UGA is in top 150 of the Shangaï ranking and have more than 1000 academic partnership in the world.

Surrounded by 3 mountainous massifs, Grenoble offers an exceptional quality of life to students, researchers, professors and residents. The city is equipped with a large number of bicyle paths allowing an easy access by soft mobility to all academic buildings. 

Grenoble is a city well connected with the public transportation. We strongly recommend participants and speakers to reach the city by train and to avoid plane if they are traveling from less than 1000 km.

Several high speed trains (TGV) daily connect directly Grenoble and Paris-Gare de Lyon or Paris-Roissy airport (3 hour trip).
Grenoble's Bus terminal (gare routière) and Railway station (gare SNCF) are located within a 5-minute walk from each other and are only a 15 min walk or 5 minutes in public transportation from your accommodation.

In Grenoble, all major car rental companies have offices at the airport or in town, most of them in front of the bus/railway station.

Grenoble is located 80 km East of Lyon "Saint-Exupéry" international airport, the closest international airport. It is one hour by shuttle bus.
If you land in Paris or another city (Marseille, etc.), you can take a train to the Grenoble Railway station (Gare de Grenoble).

National Airport
Grenoble-Isère airport offers direct flights with Paris-Orly. A shuttle bus operates between Grenoble-Isère airport and Grenoble bus/railway station for each arriving or departing flight (45 mn).
For your information, the cost of a taxi ride (at your own expense) Grenoble airport - Grenoble bus/railway station is approximately 60€ (add 50% on weekends or at night, duration: 35 mn).
