A writing workshop on the doctoral oath, inspired by the “sciences, environments, societies” workshops
French doctoral students are required to take an oath on scientific ethics and integrity at the end of their thesis defense. We are going to dissect this oath, and using sequences from the “sciences environnements sociétés” workshop, aimed at debating the role of research in the Anthropocene, rewrite personalized oaths, depending on the commitments participants wish to make at the end of their thesis.
