ERC Frontier Science for Sustainability – Pioneering Solutions for a Sustainable Future

The European Research Council (ERC) funds cutting-edge, curiosity-driven research that pushes the frontiers of science across a vast array of fields. This session at the SICT Doctoral School will explore how ERC-funded projects are pioneering transformative solutions to address global sustainability challenges. Through interdisciplinary approaches spanning environmental science, energy, health, and technology, researchers are unlocking breakthroughs in areas such as climate change mitigation, resource conservation, and sustainable development. The session will also highlight other key policy initiatives at EU level addressing sustainability of research and corresponding operations. By highlighting this work, the session aims to inspire young researchers to contribute to sustainable solutions, fostering a new generation of scientists dedicated to ensuring a resilient and equitable future.
