Greening network equipment and standardisation
This talk gives an overview of the European harmonised standards and product requirements legislation, and how it contributes to ever more stringent energy consumption requirements on customer premise equipment deployed in European households. The talk uses the IEEE 802.11 standard for wireless local area network standardisation as an example of how environmental commitments is increasingly a necessity at all layers of the stack.
